“We want to make songs that make you feel like you remember them the first time you’ve heard them,” says Wouter Janssen, one half of the Dutch DJ/ production duo Showtek. “When you can achieve that you know you’ve really contributed something to the scene.”

Wouter and his brother Sjoerd started making music in 2001, crafting “hard-edged progressive electro” and reaching a zenith with their 2012-released ‘Cannonball’ and the mighty ‘Booyah’, that came out on Dutch label Spinnin’ Records last year.

“‘Booyah’, really made us known as producers,” says Wouter, who also runs the Skink Recordings label with his brother. “After it got picked up by Polydor things really changed for us.”

That change included a more-than-ever packed-out DJing schedule and, earlier this year, a collaboration with David Guetta for chart-topping, award-winning single ‘Bad’, that the pair co-wrote and co-produced.

“We can’t believe the single went so crazy,” says Wouter. “Last time we looked it had 150 million views on YouTube. The feedback has been huge and it still is.”
