Marcus Price & Carli
Mat, Biram Kvinnor, Weed (Palms Out)
New Marcus Price and Carli (one half of Savage Skulls) collaboration with a hot selection of remixes from Kingdom, Dubbel Dutch, Girl Unit and Bok Bok.

Kidkut
I Love You (Applepips)
Ace retro rolling breakbeat track, the bass reminiscent of early Benga and Skream. Great euphoric pads in the middle too.

Ma1
Tribes Of Africa (Karnival Music)
Rinse's MA1 'Tribes Of Africa' is a deep and dark rolling percussive beast which goes hard. One to get lost in on a big system.

Zander Hardy
Hard EP (Deep Teknologi)
Zander Hardy's brand of funky percussion on the brilliant Deep Tecknologi label is not for the feint hearted. Lead track 'Attack' is brutal but beautifully mechanical.

Bambounou
Nappyhead (Youngunz)
Operating in Paris, like his fellow French global bass bros - Manare and French Fries - Bambounou has been creating some really amazing music on the underground. Hopefully with his debut release on the ever-brilliant Youngunz, he'll broaden his fan-base. 'Nappyhead' is my pick and typical of the Bambounou style. Influenced by South African house, it's tribally, sparse, techy and irresistibly funky with chopped female vox and curveball synths.

Various Artists
Hard Ass Sessions II (Enchufada)
The remit of 'Hard Ass Sessions II' is built around reaching out to the label's favourite beat makers and asking them to produce a track which is in some way inspired by kuduro. The twist is that each producer employed for the task is known for producing other sounds. Bok Bok's offering shuffles on a tribal tip, urging people to report to the dancefloor and not leave. Douster and Zombies For Money deliver great tracks too, with Italian producer Nic Sarno sealing the deal with the African chanting of 'Mana Wasa'.
